The plan incorporates extensive public realm improvements and mixed-use development potential on various public and privately owned sites.

The Design Review leverages the opportunities presented by the Station upgrade works at Oakleigh as part of the Level Crossing Removal project along the Caulfield-Dandenong line. It retains and reinforces the valued qualities of the Oakleigh Village Centre, extending these towards the Station, to significantly enhance the pedestrian and transport experience.

The plans were developed through a series of collaborative workshops involving Council officers and VicTrack, and are supported by comprehensive market/viability analysis and costings, to inform implementation.
