Simon McPherson led the development of this framework, preparing comprehensive criteria and an evaluation methodology, which are applicable to any built environment project, setting and context.

The document provides several criteria for each of the seven Better Placed Objectives. It is intended to inform designers, proponents and assessors, in the application of Better Placed. It is also designed for communities, to inform design engagement and discourse.

The project involved extensive workshopping and testing of content, working closely with GANSW staff and stakeholders, including post-application evaluation through the NSW State Design Review program.
