Research project: Local Government innovation in housing

The study is multifaceted, comprising in-depth interviews with prominent industry participants reflecting a range of perspectives and experiences; detailed case studies of completed housing projects by our Architect partners; national and international case studies prepared by RMIT through interviews and literature reviews; and prototype designs for development of government-owned properties, with economic feasibility assessment.

The project was developed over some 15 months, with a series of participatory workshops held, involving outr team, MAV officers, Council officers and other stakeholders. The work-in-progress was presented at the MAV's 2025 Annual Conference, The Future is Local.
