Research proposal: Restorative design for affordable housing

Restorative design supports wellbeing, mental health and healing, through consideration of layouts, outlook, enclosure, materials and colour. This approach is especially applicable to affordable and social housing, to support residents and provide a sense of safety, connection and autonomy.

We plan to investigate the principles, approaches and application of restorative design for housing, to help guide housing design into the future.
